How to Recover deleted sticky notes on Windows 7 ?

How to Recover deleted sticky notes on Windows 7 ?

if you deleted a sticky note from you Windows 7 by accidnt or simply want to extract it from a dead windows or Windows.old folder simply go to: RUN and past the following: %AppData%\Microsoft\Sticky Notes\StickyNotes.snt Check "Select a program from of a list of installed programs" Select notepad and open.

You will be able now to find it and read the content. if you are recovering it from another computer/hardisk or windows.old folder simply just place the drive letter or folder of windows.old. another more simple method is to show hidden files from tools then browse manually to: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Micr... Notes Replace user name with your name, and if recovering from another hardisk "External old disk" change the C: to the drive letter of that harddisk Or C:\Windows.old\Users\wissam\AppData\Ro... Notes in case of recovery after upgrade or re-installing windows 7 over another or the same windows. You can even use hirenboot or Ubuntu Live CD to access your broken system and restore your files plus the sticky notes.

 Alternate solution :

Sticky Notes: How to recover notes after closing? Your best chance to recover your data is to try navigating to the C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Sticky Notes directory, right click on StickyNotes.snt, and select Restore Previous Versions. This will pull the file from your latest restore point, if available. I've discovered if you close the Sticky Note by right-clicking it on the taskbar, it closes the Sticky Note application. However, next time you open Sticky Notes your data will return.

The same also applies if you leave the Sticky Note up when rebooting your computer.

 1) There may be old information left in the file in the App Data directory: %AppData%\Microsoft\Sticky Notes\StickyNotes.snt

 2) If your Windows 7 version supports it, right click on the folder and select "Restore Previous Versions" This is useful for getting back a note from yesterday, last week, etc. Since clicking the [X] on the note actually deletes it, rather than just closing the note, it can be useful to turn on the Sticky Note delete warning. Open the Registry Editor and navigate to the following key : HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Applets\StickyNotes Either delete the value PROMPT_ON_DELETE or set its value to 1.

you can restore it to the previous version available open the the file %AppData%\Microsoft\Sticky Notes\StickyNotes.snt

right click on the file stickyNotes.snt and restore it to the previous version available
